Karela United will be eager to return to winning ways when they host an improving Berekum Chelsea side at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Tamale-based side started the campaign brightly, collecting seven points from their opening three matches before suffering a 4-1 defeat to newly promoted Hohoe United last weekend - their heaviest league loss since May 2024. Despite that setback, Coach Nurudeen Amadu’s men remain in the top half of the table with seven points (W2, D1, L1), having scored four goals and conceded five.
Karela have been dominant at home this season, winning both of their matches at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium without conceding a goal. Their strong record in Tamale will give them confidence against a Berekum Chelsea side they have consistently outclassed at this venue, winning all five previous home meetings since 2020.
Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking to build momentum after a mixed start to the campaign. They have earned three points from their opening three games (W1, L2), with all of their fixtures so far ending in clean-sheet victories for the winning side.
Under Coach Samuel Boadu, Chelsea’s away form remains a concern, but they have shown the ability to produce surprise results on the road. They will hope to end their winless run in Tamale and upset a Karela side intent on reasserting their early-season promise.
