Sports Minister Kofi Adams has declared that Ghana's Black Stars intend to make a powerful statement at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, not just participate in the tournament.
Speaking after Ghana's emphatic 5-0 victory over Central African Republic, the Buem MP stated that the team's performance demonstrates a renewed sense of purpose.
He emphasised that Ghana aims to restore the pride the country enjoyed during their memorable 2010 World Cup campaign in South Africa.
"We want to go there and let people feel our presence just the same way they did in South Africa in 2010," Adams stated. "We want the world to feel our presence."
The decisive victory against CAR puts Ghana just one point away from qualification for the 2026 tournament.
The team's dominant performance, particularly their four second-half goals, has boosted hopes of a strong World Cup comeback after years of struggling to replicate their 2010 quarter-final success.
