Sports Minister Kofi Adams has acknowledged that the decision regarding Black Stars coach Otto Addo's future rests with the Ghana Football Association, despite expressing personal concerns about the coach's performance.
While admitting that Ghana stands on the verge of World Cup qualification under Addo's leadership, the minister described the coach as "lucky" and revealed he's not entirely satisfied with some tactical decisions.
"Well, he has been lucky, but there are still concerns," Adams stated, noting that Addo himself has frequently acknowledged making questionable calls during matches regarding substitutions and player positioning.
The minister made it clear that while he has his opinions, the ultimate decision about Addo's future isn't his to make. "The minister doesn't take those decisions," Adams emphasised, pointing to the Ghana Football Association as the body responsible for managing the national team.
Despite Ghana's strong position in World Cup qualifying, Adams admitted that watching the Black Stars has been a nerve-racking experience, even during victories, though he stopped short of questioning Addo's fundamental competence.
