Former Ghana Football Association Vice President George Afriyie believes Ghana coach Otto Addo should be given more support instead of being sacked.
He added that the technical team should be strengthened rather than making drastic changes.
"Sacking Otto at this point is not the right decision; instead, we should get him a more qualified coach to support him," George Afriyie told Asempa FM.
His comments come after Ghana’s impressive 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Stade d'Honneur in Meknes, Morocco. The Black Stars dominated the game from start to finish, delivering one of their best performances of the campaign.
The win moves Ghana to the top of Group I with 22 points, three ahead of second-placed Madagascar, putting them in a strong position to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
The Black Stars have returned home and are now focused on their final qualifier against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
