A student, entrepreneur and mentor, Hassana Issaka Bambara has emerged as the winner of the 2025 Youth in Business Pitch Challenge securing GHC 10,000 in prize money, generously sponsored by the Yaw Adutuwum Foundation.
Her win crowned a day of fierce pitches, compelling stories and innovative business solutions designed to address community needs and youth empowerment.
The 2025 Youth in Business Summit, held in Accra, was a celebration of youth power, innovation and social impact. Under the theme “Ignite the Future: Youth Power, Innovation and Impact,” the two-day summit brought together hundreds of young achievers, entrepreneurs, activists, students and youth-led organisations for dialogue, networking and collaboration.
Born on January 5, 2004, Ms. Bambara is a Level 300 student at the University of Ghana, where she is pursuing a double focus in Social Work and Social Education. She is also the founder of two ventures: Hasat Enterprise, which partners with institutions to train young people in soap-making and other practical skills and Hasat Foods, a food business offering meals and condiments, including shito to students and communities.
Speaking after her win, Ms. Bambara expressed her gratitude and determination: “This prize is more than money. It is a call to keep building opportunities for young people to learn, work and thrive. I want to use this platform to empower others, especially young women, with skills that change lives.”
Her story reflects the summit’s emphasis on youth-led solutions that go beyond profit to deliver sustainable social impact. Through Hasat Enterprise, Hassana has already trained dozens of young adults, focusing on sustainable livelihoods and quality craft. Meanwhile, Hasat Foods tackles food security and convenience with community-driven solutions.
In addition to her businesses, she is deeply engaged in mentorship and volunteerism. She has contributed to projects with the Play and Learn Foundation, the Muslimah Mentorship Network, AMA Cares Foundation and the Ghana Muslim Students Association National Ladies Wing, where she has guided young women in academics, life skills and leadership.
Ms. Hassana Issaka Bambara has officially received her GHC 10,000 prize money from Dr. Yaw Osei Adutuwum, the former Minister of Education.
The Pitch Challenge underscored that youth entrepreneurship is not only about profit but about translating vision into real, scalable action. Her victory reaffirms that when mentorship, education and opportunity align, young people can create lasting impact.
As she continues her studies and expands her ventures, Hassana Issaka Bambara stands as an inspiring role model for aspiring entrepreneurs, especially young women showing that purpose-driven leadership can indeed ignite the future.
The team expressed their appreciation for the immense support from Dr. Yaw Adutwum and his foundation and called on other leaders to join jn creating opportunities for young people who have ideas to enable them bring their ideas to life.
