Tottenham Hotspur star, Mohammed Kudus, has disclosed how he mastered his football skills playing on grassless pitches in Ghana.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate started his career playing on bumpy pitches in Nima before he was scouted to the Akosombo-based football academy.
According to Kudus, playing on hard grounds was difficult but it allowed him think quick and move smartly.
“I think on the grass pitch, receiving a ball, you automatically expect how the ball should come and bounce,” he told Sports Illustrated. “But on a sand pitch it can move anywhere. So you have to react quicker to controlling the ball ... looking at it in a positive way, I think it helps in a way, if you can find your way through the sand with the bumpy ball," he added.
Kudus further developed his skills at the Right to Dream Academy before moving to Denmark to join FC Nordsjaelland.
As he became better and better, the Ghana international saw his career skyrocket and he is currently one of the best dribblers in the world.
The 25-year-old sealed a £55million move to Spurs in the summer transfer window following two outstanding seasons at rivals West Ham United.
