KFUM Arena exploded with excitement as David Hickson Gyedu lit up Eliteserien Round 21 with a dazzling opening goal inside the first minute.
The Norwegian-Ghanaian forward, starting his first match in style, curled a precise left-footed strike into the top corner, sending the home fans into excitement. His 82-minute performance was a masterclass in movement and determination, earning him a standing ovation from the KFUM faithful.
The game was a rollercoaster. Simen Hestnes doubled KFUM’s lead with a thunderous shot from outside the box on 19 minutes, but Viking clawed back through an unfortunate Daniel Schneider own goal just four minutes later. The drama didn’t stop there, Martin Roseth’s 73rd-minute header leveled the score, leaving both sides to share the spoils in a 2-2 thriller.
KFUM, though edged in possession (46%), matched Viking’s intensity with more shots and better chances. Gyedu’s influence was undeniable, his early strike setting the tone for a spirited display.
KFUM now turns its focus to the Norwegian Cup, where they’ll face Kongsvinger on September 17th, riding high on this hard-fought point.
