Adjoa Bayor hails CAF for boosting 2024 WAFCON prize money
[caption id=attachment_1250185 align=alignnone width=1011] Adjoa Bayor[/caption]Former Black Queens captainAdjoa Bayor has commended the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for increasing the prize money of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).Before the start of the tournament, CAF announced an increase in the prize money for the 2024 WAFCON by 100% and the total prize moneyby 45%.Reflecting on the increment of the prize money, Bayor praised the leadership of CAF for investing in women's football.There is a big difference from an organization point of view as well as financially speaking, she told CAFOnline.The prize money is now up to $1m. That is massive from CAF, Bayor added.Meanwhile, Ghana opened their campaign with a 2-0 defeat against South Africa on Monday.The West African country who are making a return to the WAFCON for the first time since 2018 will face Mali on Friday, July 11 at theStade Municipal de Berkane in the second Group C game.Kick off scheduled at 16:00 GMT.
