Ashanti Region set for 2025 KGL Inter-District U17 Colts Football Festival

The Ashanti Regional Football Association will host the 2025 edition of the KGL Inter-District U17 Colts Football Festival from Wednesday, July 10 to Thursday, July 11 at the Alignment Astroturf in Sofoline.The two-day event will bring together 14 district teams representing: Atwima Kwanwoma, Atwima Nwabiagya, Kwabre East, Tafo Municipal, Obuasi East, Asante Akim, Bosomtwe, Mampong Municipal, Kumasi Metro, Ejura Sekyedumase, Kwadaso Municipal, Obuasi Municipal, Amansie, and Ejisu Juaben. Each district will field a team of U17 players drawn from local colts clubs.The competition is part of the Ghana Football Associations nationwide youth development agenda and is designed to identify promising young players, strengthen inter-district cooperation, and boost grassroots football within the region.Over the years, the KGL U17 festival has become a reliable pipeline for unearthing future national stars. This years edition is expected to attract national scouts, coaches, and football stakeholders, all eager to spot standout talents.With the strong support of the GFA and regional bodies, the festival reaffirms the commitment to nurturing talent from the grassroots level and creating pathways to professional football careers for young players across Ghana.
