Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini says he didn't play for Nordsjaelland because 'maybe I wasnâ??t good enough'
Right to Dream Academy graduate Mohammed Fuseini has opened up about missing out on a move to FC Nordsjaelland, the usual pathway for many graduates of the Ghana-based academy.The 23-year-old, who spent nine years at Right to Dream after joining at age 10, admits he may have fallen short of the required standard to secure a place at the Danish club.FC Nordsjaelland have historically signed many top prospects from the academy, but Fuseini took a different route.Being at Right to Dream is not easy; you have to work hard. There are a lot of players, and you have to be really special to get to Nordsjaelland, he told Joy Sports.I dont really know [how I didnt make it]. I think maybe I was not good enough but whatever happened had to happen. Look at where I am now.Fuseinis professional journey has since taken him to Austria, where he signed with Sturm Graz, before moving to Randers in Denmark.He currently plays for Belgian champions Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.Despite not following the traditional path through Nordsjaelland, Fuseini says he remains grateful for his development and the alternative path that has led to his growing success in Europe.
