Mohammed Fuseini fancies striker role after strong season in Belgium
Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini says he is enjoying life more as a centre-forward following a productive spell with Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian top flight. The 23-year-old, who scored 11 goals and provided three assists last season, featured primarily as a striker in a two-man attack for his club. His form earned him a place in Otto Addos squad for the 2025 Unity Cup, where he marked his second appearance for the Black Stars with a goal against Trinidad and Tobago. In an interview with JoySports, Fuseini opened up about his positional preference.I am a dynamic player; I can play as a striker and also on the wings, he said. At this moment, I am enjoying playing more as a striker because, you know, playing in that role, you get to score more goals.Playing as a winger, I still get to score, though, but I dont really mind where I play; I just give my 100% wherever I am asked to play.Fuseini has returned to pre-season training with Union Saint-Gilloise and will be hoping for another strong campaign to keep his place in Ghanas squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in September.
