Seventy-five brilliant but needy students of customers of ASA Savings and Loans has received educational support totaling GH¢ 75,000.00
Under the support, each beneficiary received an amount of GH¢1,000.00 to support their education. The students, who were carefully selected, were drawn from communities such as Somanya, Oyarifa, Adenta, Madina, Teshie, La, Nungua and its environs. Other localities are Mallam, Weija, Kasoa, Kasoa Amanfro, and Kasoa Ofaakor.
At a short presentation at Adenta, the Madina Area Manager, Mr. Eugene Owusu Biney presented the cheque to the students and their parents. He said the company, believes it is important to support the education of brilliant but needy students, as it will in the long-run impact their families and society.
The Teshie Area Manager, Madam Zalia Alhassan who also presented cheques to the 25 beneficiaries, said this forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and assured them of the company has continued support for women entrepreneurs.
“We acknowledge the challenges single parents go through in providing their wards educational needs, and we hope this support will lessen the burden,” she added.
A parent of a beneficiary student, Jennifer Osei Addo on behalf of the parents, was grateful for the kind gesture and promised to put the amount to good use, so her child will grow to become a responsible adult.
At the events were branch Managers, Swallah Mohammed Amin, Sabina Kumfu, Lydia Teye, and Area Manager Beatrice Baiden.
