
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to maintain Wilson Arthur as chairman of the MTN FA Cup committee ahead of the start of the 2025/26 football season.
The FA, in a statement on Wednesday, September 10, said, “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the retention of Wilson Arthur as Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, continuing his leadership of one of the country’s most prestigious domestic competitions.”
As chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Mr. Wilson Arthur will be assisted by Frank Nelson Nwokolo, former Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak, who has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the committee.
Other members of the committee are former Black Stars player Afo Dodoo, President of Okwawu United FC Emmanuel Akoto Bamfo, former Legon Cities General Manager Kwabena Asenso, President of Bekwai Heroes FC Eric Agyemang, and President of Cheetah FC Abdul Hayye Yartey.
The committee, led by chairman Wilson Arthur, has been tasked by the GFA to combine their experience, football expertise, and administrative skill to support the competition’s continued growth.
In addition, the MTN FA Cup Committee is tasked with overseeing the organisation, planning, and execution of the MTN FA Cup competition, which remains one of Ghana’s oldest and most competitive knockout tournaments.
The committee begins work immediately and will be expected to ensure the upcoming MTNA FA Competitions beat the previous editions.
