President Nana Akufo-Addo will from Tuesday, February 12, 2019, give legal backing to the creation of the six new regions. This will be the public presentation of the Constitutional Instruments (CIs) to give effect to the new regions.
According to a statement issued in Accra by Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah the President will on Tuesday present the CI for the creation of the North East and Savannah Regions.
On Wednesday, February 13 he will present that for the creation of the Bono East and Ahafo Regions. On Friday, February 15, he will present the CI for the creation of the Western North and Oti Regions.
"Delegations comprising Chiefs and people of the new regions have been invited to the Jubilee House in Accra for the official ceremonies.
"While congratulating the chiefs and people, Government expects that the creation of the new regions will be a further boost their development", the statement said.
The creation of the six new regions followed a referendum in the affected areas on December, 2018.
