Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has urged Ghanaians to throw their full weight behind the Black Stars as the team heads into the decisive phase of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
Ghana will first travel to Morocco to face the Central African Republic before returning home to host Comoros in their Matchday 9 and 10 fixtures.
The four-time African champions boosted their campaign in the September international window with a draw against Chad and a vital win over Mali. They now require a victory to secure qualification for the global tournament, which will be staged across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
“In three weeks, we will be going to Morocco to face the Central African Republic, and we will take three points from there also and come home to deal with Comoros,” Kofi Adams, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Buem constituency, said.
The minister called on Ghanaians to continue offering both moral and spiritual support as the Black Stars chase a fifth World Cup appearance.
“Ghanaians should continue to pray for the team. Ghanaians should continue to do everything humanly possible to make sure that the Black Stars of Ghana are part of the nation’s teams that will assemble for the World Cup,” Adams added.
Ghana currently sits at the summit of Group I with 19 points. The Black Stars are aiming to secure their fifth World Cup berth, having previously appeared in Germany (2006), South Africa (2010), Brazil (2014), and Qatar (2022).
