Fiorentina manager Stefano Pioli has lauded the signing of Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey.
The 24-year-old joined La Viola on deadline day in the summer transfer window, signing a four year deal to seal his move from AFC Fiorentina.
Lamptey spent the past week with the Ghana national team before joining his new teammates for the first time on Thursday.
Ahead of the game against Napoli, which could see Lamptey make his debut, Pioli praised Fiorentina's business.
“We did well in the market, improving the team while keeping our best players. Everyone is motivated and available. Lamptey also has excellent qualities. The squad is complete," he said at the pre-match presser.
Fiorentina signed 12 players including veteran forward Edin Dzeko.
Meanwhile, Lamptey is eager to get started after a successful week of training with the club.
"Day 1. New chapter, same focus. Excited for what’s ahead," he posted on Instagram.
Lamptey arrived in Italy with huge experience, having made over 100 appearances in the Premier League while also featuring in the Europa League with the Seagulls two seasons ago.
His decision to join Fiorentina is believed to have been motivated by consistent game time which was limited during his time under Fabian Hurzeler.
Lamptey was part of Ghana's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali, but was an unused substitute in both games.
