
Heart of Lions will welcome Dreams FC to the Kpando Park on matchday 1 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Both teams head into the game very prepared after a successful pre-season period, which saw Lions participate in the GHALCA Top 4 and a series of friendlies while Dreams emerged champions of the Nsenkyire Cup. The Still Believe lads also played a couple of friendly games.
Heart of Lions drew with Hohoe United before beating Home Stars and Soccer Apostles in pre-season.
Meanwhile, Dreams FC were held to a 1-1 draw in their final preparatory game against Koforidua Semper FI, but before that they defeated Nations FC 3-0, Medeama 4-2 and Aduana 2-1 to win the Nsekyire Cup.
The two teams have augmented their squads for the campaign with Chauncy Freeman, a Liberian forward, leading Lions' new contingent.
Dreams FC made Suraj Seidu's loan deal a permanent one after handing the former Hearts of Oak player a long-term contract. The Ghana youth international repaid the club with the Player of the Tournament during the pre-season competition. Joining Seidu are Ernest Appiah, Desmond Tetteh and Togolese winger Kolani Babouni Yves.
Heart of Lions and Dreams FC have met four times in the Ghana Premier League with the Kpando-based club winning two and losing one.
The game promises to be interesting with Lions and coach Bashiru Hayford hoping to get the best of Wilfried Dormon and Dreams FC.
