
Fashion Nexus Ghana, a non-profit organization driving initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana’s fashion industry, has officially launched its Business of Ghanaian Fashion (BoGF) Initiative, which will feature the inaugural and annual BoGF Summit, followed by a year-round Capacity Building Program.
The event brought together policymakers, development partners, designers and private sector leaders — including representatives from UNESCO, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness & Industry (MoTAI), the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts (MoTCCA), the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and the Diaspora Affairs Office of the President.
Anchored by the theme “Building a Sustainable Future for Ghana’s Fashion Industry,” the BoGF Iinitiative seeks to:
- Strengthen local talent and industry structures.
- Promote sustainable practices.
- Expand access to global markets.
- Position Ghana as a rising hub for fashion innovation.
The initiative will include the annual BoGF Summit on October 16th, 2025, which will serve as the launchpad for a year-round Capacity Building Program. This program will focus on:
- Strengthening the business of fashion.
- Advancing policy for the sector.
- Expanding fashion education.
- Preparing brands for investment readiness.
- Facilitating global market integration.
The BoGF Initiative launch event featured keynote presentations and a panel discussion titled “Fashioning Ghana’s Future — From Runway to Revenue: Building the Business Case for Ghanaian Fashion & Year-Round Capacity Building.”
Discussions explored financing challenges, fashion education, sustainability, industry structures, and manufacturing.
