Former Ghana international Antony Baffoe has eulogized the performance of the Black Queens despite falling short to England in an international friendly on Tuesday.
The West African women football powerhouse gave the European champions a tough match despite succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to the Lioness at the St Mary's Stadium.
Lucia Kendall broke the deadlock early in the game before Alessia Russo converted from the spot in stoppage time to secure victory for England.
The Black Queens, who are gearing up for the Women’s African Cup of Nations made a good account of themselves despite falling short to the European giants.
However, the former Black Stars defender has taken to social media to celebrate the Black Queens, while urging support for the team.
“Walaii Black Queens we have a team. Let’s support women’s football to the maximum. Our lady’s are solid” he wrote on social media.
The Black Queens before the friendly with England secured qualification to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in 2026 following a thumping victory over Egypt. The tournament next year will serve as a qualification competition for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
