The Black Queens technical team has announced a 23-member squad to face Zambia in a crunch third round Paris 2024 Olympic Games football qualifier.
Ghana will host the Zambians in a tough first leg qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday and follow up with the return leg in Ndola on Wednesday, February 28.
In the latest list released by the technical team led by Nora Huptle, Charlton Athletics’ Freda Ayisi was handed a chance to cement a place in the team as they face what seem the most difficult challenge so far in the qualifiers.
Goalkeeper Victoria Antwi Adjei would also return to the squad in the absence of the injured goalkeeper, Cynthia Konlan Findiib.
Comfort Yeboah of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Kerrie McCarthy of Kumasi Sports Academy and Fidaus Yakubu of Hasaacas Ladies have also been called up for the two games.
AS FAR Rabat’s Maafia Nyame was also handed her first call up to the team.
The full list include Philomena Abakah, Grace Acheampong, Anasthesia Achiaa, Susan Amah Duah, Victoria Antwi Adjei, Grace Asantewaa, Gifty Assifuah, Freda Ayisi, Evelyn Badu, Doris Boaduwaa and Portia Boakye.
The rest are Azumah Bugre, Jennifer Cudjoe, Janet Egyir, Linda Eshun, Kerrie McCarthy, Mafia Nyame, Stella Nyamekye, Jacqueline Owusu, Safiatu Salifu, Sherifatu Sumaila, Fridaus Yakubu and Comfort Yeboah.
The team commenced camping yesterday and are expected to record a respectable victory in Accra to ease the pressure on the team ahead of the second leg.
