The head coach of Ghana’s Black Queens, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has indicated that his team is moving in the right direction despite their defeat to the Lionesses of England.
The Queens locked horns with the Lionesses in their final match in 2025 on Tuesday night, and succumbed to a 2-0 loss at St. Mary’s Stadium, despite putting up a top performance.
Speaking after the match, Kim Lars Bjorkegren commended his players for a good performance, insisting that the Black Queens are moving in the right direction.
“As a coach, you always want to win. But we are 67th in the world and faced a team that may be the best in the world right now. We can be proud of our performance, and we feel we are moving in the right direction,” Kim Lars Bjorkegren said.
Following the historic international friendly against England, the Queens now shift their focus to preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which will run from 17 March to 3 April.
