Asante Kotoko’s Communications Officer, Sarfo Duku, is upbeat about the club’s preparations for their crucial CAF Champions League clash against Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) of Morocco.
“With the preparations the team traveled to Eastern region to start preparations today we will head to Greater Accra and continue our preparations. 21 players are in camp training all the things they should know about WAC the technical team will tell them. The nature of African games the technical team is teaching them everything what is left is the support from Ghanaians on Sunday they all come and support us to eliminate WAC," he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.com
Kotoko will face Wydad on Sunday, October 19, at the Accra Sports Stadium after CAF declined to approve the Baba Yara Stadium. Tickets are selling at GHS 50 for the Popular Stand and Centre Line, and GHS 200 for the VIP section.
The Porcupine Warriors, unbeaten this season, reached this stage after a 5-3 aggregate win over Nigeria’s Kwara United. However, Wydad’s experience at the FIFA Club World Cup promises a tough encounter.
