Asante Kotoko on Tuesday visited the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to seek his blessings ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup clash with Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco.
The visit took place in Accra, where club officials, players, and technical staff met the revered Islamic leader. Sheikh Sharubutu offered prayers for the team’s success, urging them to approach the match with discipline, unity, and humility.
Kotoko will face Wydad on Sunday, October 19, at the Accra Sports Stadium after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) declined to approve the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Tickets for the game are priced at GHS 50 for the Popular Stand and Centre Line and GHS 200 for the VIP section.
The Porcupine Warriors are unbeaten this season and advanced to this stage after defeating Kwara United of Nigeria 5-3 on aggregate. Despite their fine form, Wydad, who featured in this year’s FIFA Club World Cup, will pose a stern test.
Kotoko hope the Chief Imam’s prayers and strong fan backing will inspire victory on Sunday.
