FC Samartex 1996 continued their impressive start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Eleven Wonders at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi on Sunday afternoon.
A brilliant brace from in-form forward Emmanuel Mamah ensured the Timber Giants maintained their unbeaten run in the new campaign, extending their formidable home record to 13 games without defeat.
The hosts began the game brightly, dominating possession and pressing high up the pitch.
Their early pressure paid off in the 21st minute when Mamah latched onto a clever through ball before calmly slotting past the goalkeeper to hand Samartex a deserved lead.
After the restart, Mamah struck again in the 53rd minute, finishing clinically from close range after a well-worked team move to double the advantage and send the home fans into jubilation.
Wonders, to their credit, fought back late in the game and reduced the deficit in the 81st minute through Eden Kofi Asamoah, but it proved too little, too late as Samartex held on for another crucial three points.
The victory moves Samartex further up the league table, while Wonders’ struggles continue, having picked up just one point from their opening five matches.
Mamah was deservedly named the Man of the Match after his decisive double inspired another memorable home win for the Timber Giants.
