The Black Stars of Ghana are aiming for revenge against Comoros on Sunday as they gear up to conclude the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana has been one of the best teams in the African qualifiers for next year’s World Cup, winning seven matches, drawing one, and losing one in the last nine games.
The only defeat in Group I was a 1-0 loss to Comoros in the second round of the qualification campaign.
Before that game, the Black Stars had suffered a 3-2 defeat to Comoros at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
With two defeats to Comoros in the last two outings, many Ghanaians have called on the Black Stars to go for revenge on Sunday when the two national teams meet in their final game in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Although the match will be tough, the Black Stars playing in Ghana are tipped to secure victory.
In their last outing, the team hammered Central African Republic 5-0 and should be well motivated.
The Black Stars, who are on the verge of qualifying for a fifth World Cup, will not only be eyeing the revenge, but the three points to seal qualification in style in front of the home fans to bring joy to the thousands of Ghanaians who will be cheering on the team.
Comoros, on the other hand, have nothing to lose, knowing that winning would not secure qualification to the World Cup.
Ghana will face Comoros on Sunday, October 12, in a Group I showdown scheduled to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match will kick off at 7 pm.
