The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has indicated that it is time for the side to end their winless run against Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors have failed in four attempts to secure a win against their fellow Ashanti Region-based club in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
During the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Nations FC defeated Asante Kotoko 2-0 in both meetings.
Speaking ahead of their first meeting in the ongoing league campaign, Karim Zito stressed that his team is ready to end that bad record against the opponent.
“I have said it before, Kotoko doesn’t need any other position aside from winning the league. We have set the target of winning the league, and any opponent we are going to meet, we will go all out to win. If it turns the other way, it’s part of the game. So that’s our mentality.
“We want to beat the record that Kotoko has never beaten them. So, we are going all out to meet them to come out victorious,” Karim Zito told AKSC Media.
The Week 5 encounter between Nations FC and Asante Kotoko will be played on Saturday, October 11.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
