Prosper Kassim scored a brilliant opener as Union Omaha defeated FC Naples 2-1 in their USL League One clash at Werner Park on Sunday night.
The Ghanaian attacker struck in the 57th minute with a precise left-footed finish into the top corner after connecting neatly with teammate Stéfano. The goal lifted the energy in the stadium, as fans roared in delight at Kassim’s confident display.
Union Omaha doubled their lead seven minutes later when Stéfano Pinho fired home a spectacular effort from outside the box to make it 2-0. Despite Dominick Bachstein pulling one back for Naples in the 80th minute, the hosts held firm until the final whistle.
Kassim, who played the full 90 minutes, was one of the standout performers on the night, working tirelessly in attack and linking up smoothly with his teammates.
The win marks Union Omaha’s first of the season, and they now shift focus to their next league encounter against Greenville Triumph SC.
