Leicester City forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has shared his excitement after returning to the Black Stars following a long absence due to injury.
The 21-year-old missed most of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola in November last year.
The injury forced him to missed most of Leicester's ill-fated Premier League campaign last season, but returned strongly and has already netted three times this term.
"It's good that you are asking me this question," he told teammate Alidu Seidu, who is also returning from a similar injury. "You know how it feels coming from an ACL injury, you were also a victim so it is a good team. It feels amazing getting back, running again, playing football and enjoying it again.
"It is good getting back with the team again," he added.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Issahku scored a stunner to inspire Leicester to a 3-1 victory against Swansea City in the English Championship.
“It feels amazing and it’s good to be back to winning ways again,” he told LCFC TV. “As well it’s a good feeling to get the win before [going away with] the national team.
“It’s good that we got the win today and we go to the national team, focus on that and then come back stronger and keep going. It always feels good to win games and feels bad to lose games.
“I said it last week. It’s good when you take points out of games because we need them as the season goes on. With the energy in the dressing room, everyone feels happy. It’s great getting the three points.”
