Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko described his team's 2-1 victory over Nations FC as "a really tough game" that demonstrated the qualities needed to challenge for the Ghana Premier League title.
The hard-fought win at TNA Stadium in Tarkwa marked Medeama's third victory in four league matches this season, moving them to second place in the standings with nine points, just one behind leaders Kpando Heart of Lions.
"This is the kind of game you have to win if you have to fight for the league," Tanko stated in his post-match press conference, emphasizing the importance of grinding out results against determined opponents.
Reflecting on the match, the coach analyzed his team's performance: "It was a really tough game, the first 30 minutes was really good from us, we created chances, we scored one. I think we should have been two or three [goals] up."
The victory represents a strong start for Medeama as they aim to reclaim the league title they won two seasons ago, having finished outside the top four in their last two campaigns.
