
Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei opened the scoring as Schalke 04 sealed a 2-1 away win over Arminia Bielefeld in the German Bundesliga 2.
Antwi-Adjei found the net in the 11th minute, finishing coolly from the centre of the box to give Schalke the perfect start at the SchücoArena. His early goal lifted the team’s confidence as they pressed for more, thrilling the travelling fans. Hasan Kuruçay doubled the lead seven minutes later with a well-placed shot after Vitalie Becker’s setup, giving Schalke a 2-0 cushion before halftime.
Arminia Bielefeld fought back after the break, pulling one back through Maximilian GroÃer’s close-range header in the 48th minute, but Schalke’s defence stood firm to secure all three points.
Antwi-Adjei, who lasted 69 minutes, impressed with his pace and work rate before being substituted. The goal marks his first of the season after seven appearances, adding to his growing influence in Schalke’s attack.
Schalke 04 now turn their focus to their next league clash against Hannover 96 on October 17.
