Berekum Chelsea picked up their first win of the season with a commanding 2-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the Golden City Park on Sunday.
The Blues started with intensity and maintained their dominance throughout the match, creating several chances before finally breaking the deadlock. Prince Anane opened the scoring in the 42nd minute after sustained pressure from the hosts. Just three minutes after the restart, Haruna Shaibu doubled the lead, putting the game beyond the reach of the visitors.
Chelsea looked organised both in defence and attack, showing the hunger that had been missing in their earlier matches. Holy Stars, meanwhile, struggled to cope with the hosts’ pace and physicality, offering little threat going forward.
The win comes as a timely boost for Chelsea, who had been searching for momentum after a slow start to the season. They will face league leaders Heart of Lions next in what promises to be a stern test away from home.
For Basake Holy Stars, the search for their first win of the campaign continues as they prepare to face champions Bibiani GoldStars in their next fixture.
