Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito is determined to avoid the pitfalls that have plagued other Ghanaian clubs, vowing not to let continental commitments derail their domestic league campaign.
Following Kotoko's advancement in the CAF Confederation Cup, Zito immediately shifted focus to the Ghana Premier League, explicitly naming rivals Samartex and Nsoatreman as cautionary tales.
"Samartex had the same problem, Nsoatreman had the same problem," Zito stated, referring to the dip in league form those teams experienced while competing in Africa.
He has instructed his players to fully put their continental success behind them and concentrate solely on the upcoming match against Heart of Lions.
Zito's strategy to avoid this fate involves a disciplined mental shift and smart squad management. He plans to implement a rotation system to keep players fresh, ensuring the team remains competitive on both fronts without sacrificing their Ghana Premier League title ambitions.
