Black Stars coach Otto Addo is delighted to have Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu back in his team for the final round of games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Both players have been absent from the team close to a year after suffering anterior cruciate ligament injuries in November 2024.
Issahaku sustained the injury while on international duty during the AFCON qualifiers against Angola while Seidu had to be excused from the final match of the qualifiers against Niger after picking a knock. His injury aggravated in a game against Lille in Ligue 1 after returning to Stade Rennais.
Ahead of the match against the Central African Republic, Addo stated the duo worked their way back in his team with their performances for their various clubs.
"I'm very happy. I'm very happy for them. First of all, it's not, you can't take it for granted to come back as strong as they are coming back here in their games. And I'm really, really happy for them. They really deserve to be back. Yeah, we've been observing them. We've been in talks throughout with them and they're progressing on their fitness level. I mean, they're doing well in their league. So, I'm very, very happy for them to be back," he said.
Issahaku has been pivotal for Leicester City this season scoring three goals and adding an assist in nine games while Seidu has made five Ligue 1 appearances with an assist to his credit.
