
Stade Rennes have expressed firm interest to sign Dutch international of Ghanaian descent, Brian Brobbey in the current summer transfer window, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.
The French outfit are seeking for a replacement for Arnaud Kalimuendo, who recently departed the club to join Nottingham Forest, with Brobbey emerging as a priority target.
Brobbey is currently in the books of Ajax, with his current contract with the club expected to expire in summer 2027. Since the commencement of the 2025/26 football campaign, the 23-year-old forward has yet to make an appearance for the club.
The Dutch-Ghanaian forward is the latest target for Rennes, with the French outfit submitting a transfer fee around â¬20m for the acquisition of Brobbey.
However, the Dutch giants has turned down the offer for the forward as the club demand for a higher transfer fee.
Having seen their initial bid rejected, Rennes are expected to present another offer in an attempt to lure the forward for the 2025/26 campaign.
Brobbey, who opted to represent the Netherlands at the international stage has already marked eight appearances, scoring one goal since his debut in 2023.
