The Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (GCYE) has appointed Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Presidential Advisor as the patron of the Young Female Entrepreneurs Programme (YoFEP).
The announcement was made during the maiden National Annual Young Women Business Summit (YWBSummit 2025), held in Accra.
Themed “Advancing Inclusive Business for Young Women Entrepreneurs,” the Summit brought together over 250 participants from all 16 regions of Ghana, including policymakers, private sector actors, development partners, and more than 200 young women entrepreneurs. The event served as a high-impact platform for dialogue, skill-building, and policy advocacy.
Mrs. Mogtari’s appointment marks a significant commitment to national efforts promoting women’s economic inclusion and leadership. As Patron, she is expected to play a strategic role in scaling YoFEP’s reach and influence, especially across underserved regions.
“This appointment is a major boost to the movement for inclusive entrepreneurship. “Mrs. Mogtari brings both experience and visibility to the mission of empowering young women,” said Sherif Ghali, CEO of GCYE.
The Summit featured keynotes from George Opare Addo, Mr. Nii Doodo Dodoo, Mr. Osman Ayariga, and Mr. Khalid Iddrisu, setting the tone for high-impact engagement.
Participants dove into panel sessions on donor support (GIZ, 2SCALE, WUSC), policy frameworks (MASLOC, NYA), inclusive financing (Stanbic Bank, DBG), and the role of media in shaping gender narratives (B&FT, Joy News).
A vibrant Women in Business Expo spotlighted innovations by young female entrepreneurs, while interactive knowledge labs sharpened skills in branding, financial literacy, formalization, and digital tools. The event also celebrated youth creativity with captivating spoken word performances.
As a result, over 200 young women were equipped with essential business and digital competencies, 12 institutional partnerships were forged, and policy recommendations were submitted for national consideration.
The Summit significantly enhanced the visibility of GCYE and YoFEP, reaffirming their roles as catalysts for inclusive enterprise. “This Summit is not just an event. It’s an institutional commitment to inclusive growth and enterprise development,” said Sherif Ghali, CEO of GCYE. “Appointing Mrs. Mogtari as Patron marks a new chapter in our collective efforts to build a fair and thriving economy for women.”
Next Steps:
Building on the Summit’s momentum, GCYE announced the upcoming rollout of “YoFEP on the Road”, a regional outreach campaign targeting underserved and rural communities.
