Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is ready for the new English Championship season which begins this week following Leicester City's return to the second tier.
The Black Stars forward missed most of last season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which kept him on the sidelines for six months, as the Foxes suffered demotion from the English Premier League.
Issahaku has fully recovered after a long rehabilitation procedure and was involved in his side's pre-season activities, including featuring in the friendly against Fiorentina on Sunday. The 20-year-old scored a stunning solo goal in the 2-0 win over the Italians.
He is expected to start for Leicester when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in their 2025/26 season opener.
"The come back is personal. Thanks to everyone for the support throughout this journey, was lovely to be back at the King power again. See you next weekend for the main business," he posted on social media after the game against Fiorentina.
Issahaku's first season with the 2016 Premier League champions saw him play a leading role with 19-goal contribution as they returned to the Premier League.
Before suffering the injury last season, he had made 11 Premier League appearances, delivering two assists.
