The Judicial Service has debunked allegations that the Chief Justice Her Ladyship Theodora Georgina Wood has proceeded on leave prior to her retirement as speculated by a section of the Ghanaian media.
The Chief Justice was on Tuesday February 21, 2017 was missing in action during the presentation of the State of the Nation Address by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Parliament.
But the Judicial Service explained that, the Chief Justice travelled to Egypt on Saturday February 18, 2017 to attend conferences of Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme Courts, Constitutional Courts and Heads of Judiciaries in Africa.
In a statement signed by the Director of Communications for the Judicial Secretary Grace Tagoe, it said, the Chief Justice is expected to return to Ghana on Thursday February 23, 2017 and that news of her retirement will be communicated to the public when it is due.
