President Donald Trump's personal Twitter account appeared to be offline on Thursday at around 7:00 p.m. eastern time.
The account was restored several minutes later, but many on Twitter took note of the account's disappearance.
Around 8:00 p.m., the official Twitter Government account tweeted that Trump's account "was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee."
"The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored," Twitter Government tweeted. "We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again."
Trump's account, which has over 41 million followers, is the main account he uses to disseminate statements and attack his critics. The account was his personal account rather than his government account.
