A 20-year-old young man, Kwaku Kamesah has been arrested for raping a pregnant woman at Akyem Maase in the East Akyem Municipality of the Eastern region.
The victim, a 25-year-old Augustina Azilakor went to a drinking bar to buy a local gin Akpeteshie only to wake up the next day to find herself on the bed of the suspect [Kwaku Kamesah] after she had been sexually abused, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh has said.

According to him, the suspect who is a farmer also admitted having sex with the pregnant woman because he was also drunk.
The suspect in his statement told the Police that he found the victim intoxicated and decided to offer her assistance by taking her to his house for safety but ended up having canal knowledge with her.
