Steadfast Academy in Obuasi has organised its 22nd Graduation Ceremony for BECE candidates under the theme: “Fostering National Unity: The Rallying Point”

The Guest Speaker, Mr George Alfred Koomson, Obuasi West Municipal Director of Education, noted that Ghana as a nation is blessed with rich cultural diversity from the North to the South and from the East to the West with different languages and beliefs, and that our greatest strength lies not in our differences but in our ability to unite as one people with a common destiny.
He pointed out that national unity was not just an ideal, but a practical necessity, as it is the foundation upon which peace and development is built.
“At Steadfast Academy, I see that mission of Fostering National Unity alive in your commitment to discipline, moral values, academic excellence and above all respect for diversity,” he said.
To the graduants, Mr Koomson advised: “as you move forward in life remember that the journey ahead is not personal. It is national because Ghana needs your talents, your creativity, your energy and your commitment to unity.”
He advised them to “be the generation that rejects tribalism. Be the youth who stand against prejudice. Be the future leaders who build bridges not walls. If you become teachers, engineers, artists or entrepreneurs, let national unity be the principle that guides your steps.”
The headmaster, Mr Joshua Opoku Apraku, praised management of the school for the facelift in classroom infrastructure, provision of marker boards from pre-school to JHS and the stocking of the library with new reading books.
He called on the government to provide private schools with the same books that are being supplied to public schools.
Mr Apraku also requested for the posting of teachers from the Colleges of Education to private schools.
The School prefect, Master Lord Kumi, who also emerged the Overall Best Student, called on the pupils and students of the School not to joke with their studies, but study hard to achieve their dreams in life.
The Chairman for the occasion, Mr Robert Azumah, charged the graduants to follow their dreams as they leave the walls of Steadfast Academy.”Learning never ends. Embrace challenges, continue to grow and never stop striving for excellence,” he advised.
