Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have extended heartfelt condolences to Aduana FC following the tragic loss of two of their supporters.
Two supporters died after an accident involving a tricycle in Aboabo, Kumasi, on Sunday evening, after the club’s 1-1 draw with Asante Kotoko.
The incident occurred when the tricycle transporting the fans veered off the road and overturned, resulting in the fatal crash.
In a statement, Aduana FC confirmed the loss and noted that two other supporters are receiving treatment.
"We regret to announce that two of the fans have lost their lives, and two others are currently on admission. We wish the bereaved families strength and empathy, and those on admission a speedy recovery," the club said.
Reacting to news of the tragic loss, Asante Kotoko have issued a statement, expressing devastation over what has happened.
“The entire Asante Kotoko Sporting Club family is profoundly saddened and devastated to learn of the tragic accident that claimed the lives of two Aduana Stars FC supporters and left two others injured, following our recent match in Kumasi,” the club said.
The club statement continued, “We extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to the bereaved families, the loved ones of the departed souls, the entire Aduana Stars FC fraternity, their supporters, and the people of Dormaa Ahenkro. The passing of these passionate fans, who were returning from supporting their beloved club, is an immense loss that we feel deeply.”
“Furthermore, we wish the two injured supporters a full, swift, and successful recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families during this challenging time of healing.”
