Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has criticised the league schedule, the Wednesday-Sunday fixture routine, as a cause of fatigue among his players.
The FA Cup champions, who featured in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, honour their outstanding matches on Wednesdays before returning to action on Sundays.
Speaking to the media after their 1-1 draw against Adauan FC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, Zito revealed he could not organise training sessions ahead of the game due to tired legs in the squad.
"I saw tiredness within the boys, and this is the league we have to play," he said.
"I even said the FA should look into it in future because Dreams FC passed through this and nearly went to relegation, same for Samartex.
"Wednesday-Sunday [fixtures], we are not Europeans. They have energy, what they eat and the tablet they take, not to dope them but to give them what the body here cannot give you.
"Seriously, I don't think it's fair," Zito added.
Asante Kotoko will hope to return to winning ways when they host Young Apostles in an outstanding game on Wednesday.
