Mohammed Kudus delivered a match-winning performance on Saturday as Tottenham Hotspur beat Leeds United 2-1 at Elland Road, extending their unbeaten run to seven games and climbing to second in the Premier League table.
The Ghanaian forward, who joined Spurs from West Ham in a £55 million deal last summer, scored his first goal for the club with a composed second-half finish that underlined his growing influence in Thomas Frank’s side.
Kudus has now contributed one goal and four assists in his first seven league appearances â joint-highest in assists across the division.
After missing a golden chance before the interval, Kudus redeemed himself in style. Pouncing on a loose ball after Gabriel Gudmundsson’s error, he drove across the edge of the penalty box before unleashing a low strike that deflected off Pascal Struijk and nestled into the far corner.
The goal summed up the midfielder’s combination of flair, confidence, and precision â qualities that made him one of Europe’s most coveted players last season.
Earlier, Mathys Tel had opened the scoring with another deflected strike, while Leeds’ best chance came late on when Joel Piroe’s effort was parried by Guglielmo Vicario.
Tottenham’s victory not only maintained their unbeaten record but also showcased Kudus as a central figure in their push for the Premier League summit.
