Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Leeds United at Elland Road was overshadowed by a disturbing incident involving Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus.
Kudus, who had just scored Spurs’ second goal, was celebrating near the corner flag with his signature chair pose when a glass bottle was hurled from the crowd, narrowly missing his head. The object landed close to the player, prompting shock and anger from teammates, officials, and fans inside the stadium.

Security personnel quickly intervened to restore calm, but the throw left many calling for harsher penalties for fan misconduct. The Premier League has confirmed that an investigation will be launched to identify the individual responsible, while Leeds United could face disciplinary action if found negligent.
Footage of the incident circulated widely on social media, with supporters condemning the act as “dangerous” and “disgraceful.” Thankfully, Kudus escaped unhurt and was able to continue playing for the remainder of the match.
The incident, however, reignited debate over player safety in football, especially in high-tension fixtures. Authorities are expected to increase security measures to ensure such actions do not recur in future matches.
