The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revised the 2025/26 Premier League calendar following FIFA’s confirmation of the final Matchday 10 fixture in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The qualifier will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 12 October 2025, prompting a realignment of domestic fixtures to fit the FIFA international schedule and optimize television coverage.
As part of the revised plan, Matchday 5 and Matchday 9 fixtures have been swapped.
Matchday 9 will now take place over the weekend of Friday, 10 October to Monday, 13 October 2025.
Matchday 5 will be staged on the weekend of Friday, 6 November to Monday, 9 November 2025.
Clubs scheduled to play at home outside Accra during the rescheduled Matchday 5 may choose to host their games on Sunday, unless designated for live broadcast.
Clubs scheduled to play in Accra during the revised Matchday 9 will host their matches on Monday, 13 October 2025, to accommodate the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifier on the preceding Sunday.
The GFA confirmed that all Premier League clubs have been duly informed of these adjustments and urged stakeholders to take note of the new dates.
These changes are designed to maintain the integrity of the Premier League season while supporting Ghana’s participation in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers and ensuring seamless television scheduling for fans across the country.
