Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars have touched down in Algeria ahead of their crucial second-leg clash with JS Kabylie in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The team departed Accra on Thursday evening and are scheduled to face the Algerian side on Sunday at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT.
A preliminary delegation had earlier traveled ahead of the squad via Turkish Airlines to finalize logistics.
GoldStars face an uphill task after suffering a 2-0 defeat in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium last weekend.
The setback also triggered major changes at the club, with head coach Frimpong Manso relieved of his duties. Assistant coach Yaw Amankwah has since been handed the responsibility of leading the side for Sunday’s decisive encounter.
The Miners are expected to hold their mandatory training session later today as they step up preparations for the return fixture on September 28, where they must overturn the deficit to stand any chance of advancing to the next stage.
