Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has announced his travelling squad for the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie against Nigerian outfit Kwara United.
The Porcupine Warriors will head to Abeokuta with a 20-man contingent, as they prepare to protect a slender 4-3 advantage from the thrilling first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sunday’s clash is scheduled for the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta.
Goalkeepers Aziz Haruna Dari and Mohammed Gamara have both made the trip, while the defensive unit includes Joseph Amoah, Patrick Asiedu, Musa Hamzata, Zackaria Fuseini, Samba O’Neil, Ansu Henry, Joseph Ablorh, and Lord Amoah.
In midfield, Abdul Karim Zito has named Seth Kwadwo, Lord Hillary Adabo, Gyau Hubert, Emmanuel Antwi, Fuseini Walid Neymar, Amoh Philip, Listowel Hinneh, and Amidu Peter, offering a mix of creativity and steel.
Forwards Donzo Morifing and Albert Amoah will spearhead the attack as Kotoko aim to score crucial away goals in Nigeria.
The Ghanaian giants will need to be more disciplined defensively after conceding three goals in Accra, with Kwara showing their attacking strength and resilience.
A win or draw will secure Kotoko’s place in the next stage, but the Nigerians will be confident of overturning the deficit at home.
Kick-off at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium is set for Sunday evening, with both teams chasing a spot in the final qualification round.
