Asante Kotoko captain, Samba O’Neil, says he is hoping to lead the club to leave a mark in Africa and win the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.
The Porcupine Warriors opened their season with a 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea over the weekend to end their 15-year winless run at teh Golden City.
Kotoko will host Nigerian side Kwara United in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
"My first target is to win the league. As captain, I aim to lead this club to win the league and achieve everything possible," he said.
"Furthermore, we also aim to excel in Africa. We want to start strongly, build confidence, and keep pushing. The most important thing is to win, and we will take it match after match.
"In Ghana, like everywhere, our supporters go everywhere with us. So whether we are playing in Accra, Kumasi, or anywhere else, I know they will come and support us.
"To my beloved supporters, I want them to continue backing us, especially when things are not going well. That is when we need them the most," he added.
