The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, was full of praise for his players on Saturday after their win against Berekum Chelsea in Week 1 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Zito told journalists that his team deserved all three points after fighting throughout the match and creating several goal-scoring opportunities.
“After a hard-fought football match, I have done justice to Kotoko. If you look at the way we played, we created a lot of chances. If we ended this game with a draw, I don’t think it would have been fair. So, I’m very happy with my boys,” Karim Zito said.
Kotoko’s win against Berekum Chelsea on Saturday was their first at the Golden City Park in the last 15 years.
For Coach Karim Zito, this will boost the confidence of his players as they prepare to face Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The two-legged tie will be played on September 21 and September 28.
