Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is expecting an exciting Ghana Premier League campaign, which kick start this weekend.
The domestic top-flight returns tonight, with Hearts of Oak taking on newly promoted outfit Hohoe United at the Accra Sports Stadium. President John Dramani Mahama is expected to be in attendance for the much-anticipated Premier League opener on Friday.
Meanwhile, Bibiani Goldstars will begin their Premier League defense against Bechem United in a high-stake clash on Saturday.
In an interview, Agyemang Badu predicted that the Ghana Premier League will be exciting this season, considering cash incentives and a massive rise in the prize money for the champion at the end of the season.
“The Ghana Premier League will be interesting this season. A lot of things have changed, particularly change in coaches, incentives for the clubs and others. There are new coaches in the league and we will be looking at how they can succeed at their various clubs” he said.
Bibiani Goldstars emerged as champions last season, dethroning Samartex to annex their maiden League title in the history of Ghana.
